Motiva is a petrochemical company that is wholly owned by Saudi Aramco.
Petrochemical companies face many risks when storing and distributing hazardous materials. Corporations processing chemicals and petroleum must prevent emergencies that can cause danger to employees, the environment, and those living around the facility. Firms do not want to harm their reputation by having an explosion or security breach and must install a thorough security system.
Motiva hired Sabre Integrated Systems to work on one security installation in a petrochemical plant in New Jersey. This initial opportunity led Sabre to work at eight separate Motiva sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The video security systems Sabre Integrated installed for Motiva have many purposes including, perimeter security, compliance, and process control.
The video security system Sabre installed enables Motiva to monitor if employees are following operational safety procedures which help with compliance policies and ensures they will have a clean audit. The security equipment consists of viewing gauges and monitoring equipment enabling operators to oversee employee and visitor activity at fuel tankers and filling stations.
Sabre’s team of technicians had to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) certifications to allow them to work near oil tankers which complied with Coast Guard guidelines.
Security personnel at Motiva benefit from having a security plan that can monitor an entire operation that spans acres of property from one central location. Facilities managers can watch for any errors which could result in an oil spill and have their teams respond quickly to emergencies.
